Introducing: The Omega Aqua Terra 150M Turquoise On Strap

What We Know

It's Omega's summer of increments, so it seems. Following last month's Seamaster Diver 300M splashed with tiny accents of orange, Omega just gave its turquoise-dialed Aqua Terra a very slight update. Less than a year since the first turquoise Aqua Terra was launched, the bright varnished gradient dial with black PVD-coated hour markers now features a contrasting matte black ceramic bezel. Instead of the steel bracelet, it gets an integrated-style rubber strap with turquoise stitching.

Soldier Shot of Omega

Just like its cousins, these watches come in both the 38mm and 41mm case sizes, and all the specs from the Aqua Terra line remain the same. Both sizes are water resistant to 150m, and the 38mm case has a thickness of 12.4mm, while the 41mm case is 13.3mm tall. The in-house 8800 caliber powers the 38mm, while the larger variant gets the 8900. Each of these calibers, like many in Omega's catalog, is METAS certified as a Master Chronometer and able to withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss.

The new Aqua Terra Turquoise on rubber strap is available now, with both priced at $7,300.

What We Think

When the first turquoise-dialed Aqua Terras came out last year, I was very intrigued when I saw them in person. The Aqua Terra collection from Omega is certainly expansive, but despite the sheer volume of models, the dial design felt quite new from the brand. While the gradient isn't a new thing on these Aqua Terra dials, the black PVD-coated indices, logo, and hands certainly felt very modern and a bit of a unique tangent from the rest of the line when combined with the glossy solid dial surface.

That being said, this new launch is really one of the last things I'd have expected to see this summer, especially considering the fact that the previous release only came out last December. I'm awfully curious about why these weren't released alongside the bracelet variants, or why the black ceramic bezel was added to this model. I still prefer the steel version on a bracelet, as I think the rubber strap design of the Aqua Terra (with what I call a diner-booth texture) and the black ceramic bezel is a bit much for an already standout dial. But Omega clearly sees variety as king here, so add these new turquoise Aqua Terras to the count.
